“Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever… It remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.”
– Aaron Siskind

Hi! My name is Tess and I am a pet/animal & family lifestyle and documentary photographer!

I have been in love with animals since the moment I was born. From adoring my own pets to attempting to pursue a degree in Zoology (unfortunately the science labs got the best of me), I have always dreamed of working with animals for a living. I now feel so lucky that this dream did eventually come true for me through another more unknown passion of mine, photography.

My initial love for photography started out with documentary photography. I began following a very well known National Geographic photographer named Ami Vitale, on Instagram, and absolutely fell in love with her photographs and the way she made a difference by telling stories through them. I knew then that pursuing photography, for me, meant making a difference and capturing the in the moment, natural and real part of people's lives. Little did I know, it would quickly turn into animal's lives and the special moments they share with their people.

As an animal lover, I naturally wanted to practice my photography skills on my two amazing English Setters. Before I knew it, animal photos quickly became my specialty and are truly what I feel I was called to do. I find so much joy in freezing time and giving people the gift of being able to look back on the way these incredible animals influenced these special and important times in our lives.

To this day, I continue to try and tell stories through pictures by telling the stories of pets and their families through my work. I also work to advocate for animals in need through photographs that tell the hard stories.

I love photography but I also love that a portion of your session fee is able to be donated to one of the animal rescues/organizations listed under our "Help an Animal in Need" section on our website.

Thank you for stopping in and I hope to hear from you soon!
